摘要: Pastures, forages, and grasslands dominate the landscape across United States support a large ruminant population that supplies nation with value-added animal products. A historical perspective is presented of innovations as they occurred in Journal Animal Science over past 100 yr pasture forage research. Consideration was given to both perspectives. Areas consideration from were schemes for feedstuff analysis, experimental design statistics, sample preservation, indirect methods measuring intake digestion, TDN energy, nutritive value, harvested forage, grazing environment. framework forage-animal interface research, determining yield, choice stocking method, management, partitioning DM, near-infrared reflectance spectroscopy technology, antiquality constituents, preservation. Finally, importance discussed applying research results general nutrition beyond focused on altered diets.
