摘要: The Nubian Sandstone, mainly that of Lower Cretaceous to Upper Jurassic age underlying the desert Central Sinai and Negev, was found contain fresh water. quantities stored in this aquifer are estimated at several hundred billion∗∗ cubic meters. Although only a very small fraction water has pumpage potential, is economic importance. present arid climate area, distances between possible recharge areas where found, as well large volume storage, indicate part fossil. based on 14C dating method, ranges 13 000 years more than 30 years. 18OD ratios characteristic precipitations temperate climates one. Analysis calculated hypothetical decay curve indicates although outflowing today entered ago, rate discharge determined by replenishment. Similar aquifers, containing fossil correlative stratigraphic sequences, known Sahara Western Desert Egypt.
