摘要: Great Britain has had statutory regulation of minimum pay for most this century but never previously a national wage (NMW). This paper outlines the history culminating in 1997 with establishment Low Pay Commission (LPC). The three key debates within LPC are analysed, namely definition wage, what to do about youngsters, and level set NMW. impact NMW on distribution, employment, family incomes exchequer finances is out. concludes that fine example successful social partnership.
