摘要: Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) was used to estimate the relative efficiencies of nursing homes in Maine for 2 years before introduction a prospective payment system and afterward. A multiple regression performed which DEA-estimated efficiency dependent variable number facility characteristics study year were independent variables. Study findings indicate that home scores fell after reimbursement; is, generally speaking, more inputs being per unit output period reimbursement than preceding it. This may be result poor management, degraded quality inputs, improved outputs, or some other unobserved trend during this same period. The also concludes higher occupancy rates are associated with lower patients restraints produce severe negative effects on efficiency. In addition, it appears sudden increase administrative hours final played role year's average scores, but all input levels rose while remained virtually constant.
