摘要: After receiving events in a fixed order, A-B-C…, rats, like people, on being provided with A, may anticipate not only B, current anticipation, but also C, remote anticipation. In two experiments, we attempted to determine whether rats’ anticipations are mediated by item cues (C elicited A) or position directly Position 3 cues, which generalize 2). Experiment 1, rats runway received series of three trials, XNY and ZNN, each irregular order day. N signified nonreinforcement; X, Y, Z qualitatively different food reinforcements. The manifested anticipation running faster Trial 2 the than ZNN series. Since were presented irregularly, performance cannot be explained positional basis alone. It can an basis, assuming that memory 1 reinforcer became associated event, event as well. Thus X signaled whereas N. produced same results, regardless regular order. These results indicate associations. They offer no evidence associations do same, they rule out possibility.
