摘要: Abstract Despite the fact that Sustainable Fisheries Management (SFM) has long been proposed internationally, it remains controversial. Practical and successful applications are scarce, especially in developing countries with a recent history of massive overfishing, such as Mexico. Although SFM adopted at highest level Mexican legal framework during last two decades, its implementation still faces series complex challenges. At present, important changes political regime breaking point, motivating academic discussion about national implications adopting approaches. Through analysis deep interviews key actors, combined published material, article illustrates how fast-track adoption approaches fared fisheries context, current situation being largely dysfunctional regard to challenges SFM. A complicated mixture between unbeaten management vestiges caused present circumstances an enhanced but limited system. The proposes initiatives required improve Mexico based on understanding domestic historic conditions
