摘要: AbstractModern sleep and dream science not only fails to support the central tenets of Freudian theory but raises serious questions about other strongly held psychodynamic assumptions including nature unconscious mind, infantile sexuality, tripartite model concept ego defense, free association analysis transference as a way effecting adaptive change. This article summarizes radical revision in terms neurobiological findings last half century proposes an alternative theoretical which posits virtual reality generator for brain that arises late evolution early development thermoregulating animals. The author's training clinical experience are used highlight these considerations inform forthcoming treatment-oriented book progress entitled EGO DAMAGE AND REPAIR.
