摘要: Abstract This paper presents a comparative study on fire models to predict the performance of an axially loaded square hollow steel (SHS) column exposed localized fire. A simple model based classic plume theory and sophisticated computational fluid dynamics (CFD) named Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) were investigated used heat fluxes from column. Thermo-mechanical analyses using finite element software conducted obtain temperature structural responses predicted fluxes. total 22 cases considered variable parameters included release rate, source diameter, location load ratio. The temperatures higher than those model. buckling generally lower model, average difference was within 40 °C. Buckling is defined here as maximum in onset buckling. Comparing with computationally efficient yields conservative results, which may be engineering design.
