摘要: Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. small colony type (M. SC) is the causative agent of contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP), one most serious bacterial diseases in cattle and buffalo. Ureaplasma parvum (U. parvum) colonizes human urogenital tract, has been associated with urethritis premature birth. The de novo synthesis thymidylate (dTMP) essential catalyzed by synthase (TS), encoded either thyA or thyX genes. No homologs to have identified U. M. SC genomes. Here we report identification, partial purification characterization TS. Our results showed that TS apparently are flavin-dependent, having similar enzymatic activities but no sequence homology other known ThyX proteins. Up date there 11 Mollicutes species lacking both gene. Therefore, finding described here likely constitutes a new enzyme family specific for Mollicutes. These enzymes could be ideal targets future development agents against Myoplasma infections.
