摘要: Abstract This paper provides an innovative approach to assessing carbon sequestration in sweet chestnut coppice taking into account the importance of fluxes whole forest-industry value chain mitigation climate change. The goals this study were: evaluate baseline capture forest north Spain; assess effect thinning and extending rotation period on storage; substitution using products as alternative other materials. CO2FIX model was used estimate content different components: aboveground belowground biomass, soil wood products, under five scenarios. Model parameterization a function stand age carried out growth data, litterfall rates, sawmill processing data lifespan their final end. Sawmill efficiency measured situ Lumber Recovery Factor. scenarios which only one made resulted more total accumulating than baseline, especially when 40 years increased by 20 years. In contrast, involving two did not even reach carbon. Additionally, positive impact GHG emissions found for substitute materials, i.e. cement fossil fuel. Taken together, these results highlight sustainability treatments terms storage coppice, quantifiably supports environmental benefits products. As such, it valuable information managers policy makers who wish address change management planning.
