摘要: Abstract Marbofloxacin is a common antibiotic drug used to treat bacterial infections in pet animals. Similar other fluoroquinolones, marbofloxacin subject the emerging problem of antimicrobial resistance. Thus, it necessary use pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) integration and modeling minimize selection resistant mutants bacteria extend useful life agents, including marbofloxacin. This study evaluated PKs vivo efficacy Trachemys scripta after single intracoelomic injection. Three groups healthy adult turtles ( n = 8 per group) were each treated with 0.4, 2, 10mg/kg Blood samples rectal swabs collected measure concentrations blood (using high-performance liquid chromatography fluorescence detection validated method) evaluate vitro susceptibility Kirby-Bauer Method), respectively. The PK profiles fit bicompartmental model dose dependent. T max half-life ranged between 2.82 4.64 hours 16.14 30.68 hours, Bacterial isolation showed presence both Escherichia coli Salmonella spp. isolated only 48 administration marbofloxacin, all strains considered resistant. Results seem suggest that even if able reach considerable plasma concentrations, can still be ineffective against are potential animal human pathogens.
