摘要: Using specific antisera to human beta-lipotropin, we have visualized cells and axons with beta-lipotropin-like immunoreactivity in rat brain pituitary. The beta-lipotropin so localized is well delineated contained the cytoplasm of beaded axons. Areas greatest content are hypothalamus (with cell bodies medial basal arcuate regions), periventricular nucleus thalamus, ansa lenticularis, zona compacta substantia nigra, amygdaloid nucleus, incerta, periaqueductal central gray area, locus ceruleus, a few fibers reticular formation. question exact relationship methionine-enkephalin remains open, because some areas contain both substances only one or other.
