摘要: Proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) is an auxiliary protein of DNA polymerase delta that tightly associated with sites replication; whether PCNA a definite prognostic factor remains controversial. This study determined the clinicopathological factors long-term oncological outcome after radical resection stage II–III rectal cancer, focusing on PCNA. We retrospectively reviewed 135 consecutive patients who underwent curative surgery for cancer between August 2001 and April 2004. Prognostic including immunohistochemical expression clinical were evaluated. The index correlated lymph node metastasis (P = 0.010). A multivariate analysis identified two independent significantly affected both disease-free overall survival: index. With median follow-up period 60 months (range 8–87 months), 5-year survival low group higher than those high (71.8% versus 32.0%, P < 0.001; 83.9% 50.0%, P < 0.001, respectively). For undergoing pathological N can provide valuable information about survival. suggests may be used as in patients.
