摘要: This study was aimed to determine the uptake and accumulation potential of a weed (Abutilon indicum L.) for phytoremediation soil contaminated with cadmium. Plants were grown in spiked 0, 2.5, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 mg/kg Cd, individually. sample (root shoot) analyzed Cd content at 30, 60, 90 days trends characterized. A steady increase increasing metal concentration exposure period observed all treatments. Accumulation roots found be 4.3–7.7 times higher than that shoots. Statistically significant difference (P ≤ 0.001) mean root shoot successive days recorded. Effect on growth physiology also evaluated. At levels, length biomass test plant reduced significantly. Although, delayed initially, it comparable control end study. Chlorophyll proline declined 30 60 days after treatment. However, 90 days, values more or less showing adaptability contamination. Considering ability, BCF >1 (bioconcentration factor) TF <1 (translocation established A. as candidate phytoremediation. Hence, employing indigenous species like can an ecologically viable option sustainable cost-effective management heavy metal-contaminated soils.
