摘要: 1. Visual resolving power is known to be poorer for objects oriented obliquely as compared with horizontal and vertical orientations. Experiments were designed evaluate the optical neurophysiological factors involved. 2. Gratings a sinusoidal light distribution generated on face of an oscilloscope. Spatial frequency contrast could varied while keeping mean luminance grating constant. 3. Using homatropinized eye artificial pupil carefully corrected refraction, high resolution in meridians oblique was found gratings ranging spatial from 1 35 c/deg. 4. It concluded similar behaviour low that neither focus errors nor aniseikonia can account these findings. 5. Additional proof cannot significantly preferred directions obtained by forming interference fringes directly retina using neon—helium laser coherent source. 6. Similar orientational changes by-passing dioptrics fringes. effect due some inequality visual nervous system.
