摘要: Periphytic diatoms were studied to evaluate the water quality of a newly created lake, formed by enclosure formerly tidal Cardiff Bay (Wales, UK), and effects two inflowing rivers which drain densely populated industrialised catchments. Seven sites in locations on monitored for chemistry over 2 years. Water was assessed using revised UK trophic diatom index (TDI) new methods determine ecological ratios status classes as required EU Framework Directive. Diatom assemblages reflected spatiotemporal variations environmental conditions between within bay. In bay, differences river possibly local pollution certain areas lake. High values TDI indicated eutrophic hypertrophic both bay poor status.
