摘要: Abstract Background Anemia is common among patients with type 2 diabetes. We determined whether diabetic significantly differed in erythrocyte mechanical fragility as compared nondiabetic subjects. Methods recruited 25 Caucasian diabetes (14 men and 11 women; mean age 58±8years) age-, race- sex-matched individuals. The of erythrocytes was tested by inducing hemolysis double aspiration K EDTA blood through a 0.5mL insulin syringe equipped very thin needle. plasma then separated from the cells centrifugation at 2000x g for 15min room temperature. A Beckman Coulter DxC 800 used to measure index direct spectrophotometry. Results Compared matched controls, had increased (hemolysis ratio 21±13 vs. 14±10, p=0.02). Univariable linear regression analysis revealed that there strong positive association between percent fasting glucose (r=0.669, p Conclusions Our data suggest have higher than subjects, strongest correlate this group.
