摘要: BACKGROUND Much of the epidemiology atrial fibrillation (AF) is based on data from Western populations. Despite huge population Asia, clinical AF in Asian countries are limited. The current study aimed to investigate prevalence and incidence newly diagnosed (ie, incident) AF, as well lifetime risk, China determine risk factors contributing its development. METHODS Using a medical insurance database involving > 10 million individuals for years 2001 2012 southwest China, trends incident were calculated using Kaplan-Meier analysis Cox regression. usefulness CHADS2 (congestive heart failure, hypertension, age, diabetes, stroke [doubled]) CHA2DS2-VASc age ≥ 75 [doubled], vascular disease, 65-74, sex category [female]) scores was tested predicting occurrence AF. RESULTS A total 471,446 (aged 20 years) studied, with 1,924,975 person-years experience. We identified 921 patients (62% male; mean 62 years). subjects aged 0.2 per 100 people, an 0.05 overall. Over 11-year period, increased 20-fold, whereas AF-related 13-fold. approximately one five among Chinese adults, it advancing age. score superior our (DeLong test, Z = 6.621, P CONCLUSIONS burden, stroke, has significantly over past 11 China. public health burden complications greatest very elderly, major implications health-care systems given global this common arrhythmia.
