Decadal northward shift of the Meiyu belt and the possible cause

摘要: The feature of the decadal movement Meiyu belt and their association with East Asia atmospheric circulation for period 1979–2007 is examined in this study. It shown that China has a shift late 1990s. There remarkable difference between periods before after 1999, mainly located to south Yangtze River valley but afterward Huaihe valley. At same time, distinctive tropospheric warming stratospheric cooling trend found mid-latitudes Asia, which causes upper pressure surfaces upward bulging tropoause elevated subtropics associated widening subtropical area over Asia. Accompanying widening, westerly jet shifts northward tropical Hadley expands poleward, results belt.
