摘要: We experimentally reanalyzed the classic interaction between Pieris rapae, a specialist lepidopteran herbivore, and isothiocyanates (mustard oils) that are characteristic phytochemicals of Brassicaceae. Previous investigations have suggested P. rapae is unaffected by isothiocyanates. Using whole plants, root extracts, microencapsulated formulation allyl isothiocyanate, we now show reduce herbivore survival growth, increase development time, each in dose-dependent manner. Neither substrate glucosinolate, nor myrosinase, enzyme results breakdown glucosinolates, negatively affected rapae. Thus, present strong evidence for role plant resistance against
