摘要: Intramolecular vibrational and rotational coupling possibly relaxation processes are essential for an efficient multiphoton excitation of polyatomic molecules by intense infrared laser light. The manifestations such couplings in molecular spectra discussed with particular reference also to off-resonant couplings. Then the evidence from IR photochemical experiments is discussed. Evidence absolute rates small large mentioned first. Secondly, a brief discussion given relative one molecule, using frequencies exciting different fundamental bands. Finally product energy distributions IR-photochemistry illustrated some new statistical model calculations.
