摘要: Recovery of the federally threatened Ambystoma cingulatum (Flatwoods Salamander) will require monitoring known populations, as well continued searches for additional populations. In an effort to develop recommendations maximizing efficiency future surveys larval Flatwoods Salamanders, we com- bined data from conducted between 1990 and 2004 in Florida Georgia. Analysis these revealed variation number larvae captured, survey effort, capture rates, body size among years months. An average 16 min or 45 one-m long dipnet sweeps was required catch each larva. For wetlands surveyed twice a season, results (i.e., presence assumed absence) were consistent 74% consecutive surveys. We make conducting implementation coordinated research program Salamanders.
