Gravitational instability of Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet black holes under tensor mode perturbations

摘要: We analyse the tensor mode perturbations of static, spherically symmetric solutions Einstein equations with a quadratic Gauss–Bonnet term in dimension D > 4. show that evolution for this type perturbation can be cast Regge–Wheeler–Zerilli form, and obtain exact potential corresponding Schrodinger-like stability equation. As an immediate application we prove ≠ 6 α 0, sign choice coefficient suggested by string theory, all positive mass black holes are stable. In exceptional case = 6, find range parameters where asymptotically flat holes, regular horizon, unstable. This feature is found also general < 0.
