摘要: Using data from the Panel Study of Income Dynamics, author examines cyclicality wages within employer-employee matches for years 1970-91. Recent research on wage has suggested that are very procyclical (tending to rise and fall with economic upturns downturns), even workers who remain same employer. The finds, however, evidence procyclicality he is rather weak except small group were paid by piece rate or commissions. Despite having acyclical rates, men hourly had earnings movements procyclical. Salaries exhibited little cyclicality, but salaried income sources bonuses, commissions, overtime earnings. results suggest increasing prevalence incentive-based pay will increase matches.
