摘要: The effects of theobromine in man are underresearched, possibly owing to the assumption that it is behaviourally inert. Toxicology research animals may appear provide alarming results, but these cannot be extrapolated humans for a number reasons. Domestic and used racing competitions need guarded from chocolate cocoa-containing foods, including foods containing cocoa husks. Research ought include caffeine as comparative agent, underlying mechanisms further explored. Of all constituents proposed play role our liking chocolate, most convincing, though ruled out. Most other substances unlikely exude psychopharmacological effect extremely low concentrations or inability reach blood–brain barrier, whilst craving addiction explained by means culturally determined ambivalence towards chocolate.
