摘要: Abstract Landslides in the vicinity of reservoirs are prone to generate deadly waves as infamous Vajont case. There more than 3800 landslides Three Gorges Reservoir area through detailed geological investigations, which constitutes a serious tsunami threat population and properties nearby. The Liangshuijing landslide, very large creeping landslide located region characterized by complex morphology multiple time varying failure mechanisms, is here investigated. Currently comprehensive measurements taken ground monitoring network, inclinometric readings, situ laboratory geotechnical tests were analyzed build conceptual model for landslide's drivers its kinematics. cumulative displacement series decomposed into trend periodic components reliably establish relationship between displacements reservoir behavior. A numerical slope stability analyses employing finite element limit analysis was performed identify material compatible with observed Our results shed light on how behaviors drive development, identified mechanisms affect terrain mechanism turns out be dominant conditions change. findings provide new insight hazard assessment mitigation near reservoirs: considerably smaller local may cause almost severe. Therefore, single not adequate but full suite probing range possible required.
