System and method for flow control in an adaptive file delivery system

摘要: An adaptive file delivery system and method transmits a data file, such as an audio-video over network or collection of networks in segments, each segment transmitted during different time period. Each period has transmission portion to transmit its associated wait which no further interaction with the occurs regarding segment. In some implementations, duration is sufficient reach steady-state throughput condition, allows traffic load status be determined from rate measurements transmissions. The at least long enough limit average adapt variations avoid congestion. Various techniques for measuring congestion are described.
