摘要: The original idea for this article was to examine the new molecular techniques detection of mutation directly at DNA level in exposed individuals or their offspring and assess relative advantages disadvantages monitoring humans rodents. However, an examination articles a comparison technology indicated that our constant quests methods improvement were leading some loss insight into important health-related questions should be guiding these endeavors. As result, individual are not covered here great technical detail. Instead, few presented general overview, along with biological issues related induced mutations within populations. Some hypothetical scenarios also because approaches will continue change rapidly, we must continually adjust thinking combine useful attributes each current future approach most appropriate questions. © 1995 Wiley-Liss, Inc. *
