摘要: A novel UV resonance Raman spectrometer has been utilized for the study of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH). This work represents first application spectrometry to determination trace such as napthalene, anthracene, phenanthrene, and pyrene various substituted derivatives. The data illustrate that enhancement is sufficient levels these species, down 20 ppb level. factors which determine detection limit measurements are disucssed. intensities strongly depend upon excitation wavelength. Thus, by a judicious choice wavelength it should be possible selectively excite individual PAH species in mixtures. Resonance studies anthracene its 2-methyl, 9-methyl, 9-phenyl, 9,10-diphenyl derivatives demonstrate frequency intensity differences permit easy differentiation between structurally similar species. potential utility this new technique speciation PAH's complex matrices discussed.
