摘要: This paper reports estimates of the periodontal status US population derived from data Phase 1 Third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey conducted by Institute Dental Research 1988-1991. A total 7,447 dentate individuals 13 years age older, representing approximately 160.3 million civilian non-institutionalized Americans, received a assessment. Measurements gingival bleeding, recession level, pocket depth, calculus were made dental examiners. Assessments at mesiobuccal mid-buccal sites all fully erupted permanent teeth present in two randomly selected quadrants, one maxillary mandibular. All weighted standard errors calculated special software to adjust for effect sample design. Although over 90% persons or older had experienced some clinical loss attachment (LA), only 15% exhibited more severe destruction (LA > = 5 mm). Prevalence moderate LA increased with age, while prevalence pockets 4 mm 6 did not. These suggest that increasing is associated than changes age. The extent number affected advanced conditions attachment, was not large any group. Differences deep pockets, found among gender race-ethnicity groups. Females better health males, non-Hispanic whites either blacks Mexican-Americans.
