Communication with media in nuclear or radiological emergencies: general and practical recommendations for improvement

摘要: Communication with mass media during and after a nuclear emergency presents both challenge an opportunity for management. The lies the different motivations types of process applied by management; arises from power to reach out audience information important compliance protective actions. This article summarises recommendations improved communication management professionals. Recommendations address traditional new media, are result empirical qualitative research conducted in context FP7 PREPARE project, including: (i) content analysis newspapers articles reporting about Fukushima ( N  = 1340); (ii) tweets  = 914); (iii) approach – round table discussions stakeholders N  > 100) involved emergencies. Results show that although challenging, can be using developing skills, training resources preparedness phase cycle. Some general practical advice is given.
