摘要: Abstract We present a reduced order model for describing the transient diffusion and convection in monolith channels with diffusion, adsorption, desorption reaction porous washcoat layer. Unlike traditional two-phase or 1(axial)+1(washcoat) dimensional models whose validity may be limited reacting flows, multi-mode is accurate to first transverse time ( t D ) hence valid over much wider range of operating conditions kinetics. provide physical interpretation various effective coefficients appearing model. For case inert non-reacting solutes, we obtain transport relate them experimental observations. steady-state case, form intra- interphase mass transfer coefficients. In general show that external coefficient concept not applicable as solid–fluid interfacial flux cannot expressed terms concentration differences even leading . also widely used 1+1 lead errors unity exit moments. Finally, apply chromatographic method second moments diffusivities kinetic parameters compare results those obtained from models.
