摘要: Abstract In the course of research into effectiveness new molluscicides for bilharziasis control, a recently developed compound, Shell WL 8008 (N-tritylmorpholine), has been tested in Southern Rhodesia, both laboratory and field. It is highly toxic to Bulinus (Physopsis) globosus, Biomphalaria pfeifferi Lymnaea natalensis, all which succumbed compound at concentration 1.0 ppm contact time only 15 minutes. In experiments reservoirs natural watercourses, concentrated aqueous suspension was sprayed on or just under water surface, forming white ”blanket” that sank rate depending temperature, amount vegetation, so on. The period with snails sufficiently long molluscicide kill them as it sinks; this characteristic great importance economic treatment large stagnant bodies slow-moving streams. piscicidal, but little effect wide range microfauna.
