摘要: Determining the optimal location of an air compressor in a manufacturing facility is challenging problem that can offer significant energy savings. A novel simulation-optimization model proposed to increase efficiency by determining location. The optimization strategy based on objective function minimizes total consumption – hence, cost for while considering user's preference mathematical first integrates facility's characteristics user inputs, divides into zones, and generates rectilinear zone-to-zone distance matrix within facility. incorporated via five level user-preference index, assigned using preferential locations as suggested twenty-two experienced managers. sensitivity analysis conducted determine relationship between selected resulting at each simulation-driven performed real-life layout typical compressed equipment with corresponding nameplate data. In order investigate demonstrate effectiveness approach, derived zones are compared including most efficient zone, least three other random. results our study reveal method achieves reductions maintaining desired
