摘要: Background The association between circulating magnesium (Mg) and Parkinson's disease (PD) remains ambiguous controversial. Thus, a meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate the Mg levels in PD patients clarify whether high should be considered as potential risk factor for PD. Methods In this study, 17 case-control published studies were selected our by searching electronic databases of Web Science, PubMed, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) before June 1, 2018. Overall, 848 cases 784 healthy controls (HC), 1,023 911 HC, 180 144 HC met inclusion criteria study serum, peripheral blood, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), respectively. Standardized mean difference (SMD) random-effects model 95% CI used assess correlation strength through comparison two groups. Results Meta-analysis showed that serum significantly higher than those individuals (SMD =1.09, =0.52, 1.66). Furthermore, result further confirmed combined analysis whole blood together =0.64, =0.10, 1.19). addition, CSF observed with normal range =0.55, =0.21, 0.88). However, data did not discuss analyze because smaller sample size studies. Conclusion Our findings supported notion increase appears
