摘要: Knowledge of the quantitative assessment and structural development root systems is essential to improve optimize productivity agroforestry systems. Studies on biomass recovery by sieves different mesh sizes (2.0, 1.0, 0.5 0.25 mm) distribution for four-year-old individuals five tree species viz.; Acacia auriculiformis A. Cunn. ex Benth, Azadirachta indica Juss, Bauhinia variegata L., Bombax ceiba L. Wendlandia exserta Roxb. were conducted at research farm Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa, Bihar, India. The results indicated that mm sieve was adequate majority roots. All exhibited a large variation in depth horizontal spread four years after planting. maximum recorded W. (2.10 m) minimum B. (1.00 m). Horizontal 2.05 m 8.05 auriculiformis. Root exceeded crown cover all species. primary roots more than secondary length diameter main highest (108.3 cm) (23.2 cm), respectively. Highest lateral B.variegata (201.6 (1.8 Total among accounted 18.2–37.9% total biomass. Results this study infer although have potential conserve moisture fertility status soil, most effective promoting soil fertility. deep rooted will be preferred cultivation under could reduce competition nutrients with crops pumping from deeper layers soil.
