A population-based 5-year follow-up of allergic rhinitis in Chinese children.

摘要: BACKGROUND There have been few longitudinal investigations of allergic rhinitis (AR) in Chinese children. We previously conducted an investigation the prevalence AR 3- to 6-year old children for year 2005-2006. The aim this study was observe natural course investigated population during a cohort 5 years. METHODS A total 1211 were included study. Telephone interviews three times 1st, 3rd, and 5th from previous study.(14) Questions including duration, severity nasal symptoms, asthma, related problems allergy examined. Skin-prick tests (SPTs) performed again on those who had done SPTs study(14) after last follow-up (i.e., years). RESULTS Of children, 870 (71.8%) completed 5-year observation period. In year, positive symptoms 29.4% (256 children), 64/70 (91.4%) formerly symptom SPT(+), 45/104 (43.3%) SPT(-), 40/66 (60.6%) with not (SPTs[x]), 107/630 (17.0%) negative. SPT results showed that 96.1% (73/76) SPT(+) remained SPT(+); only 3.9% (6/154) became SPT(-) CONCLUSION concluded (symptom SPT(+)) non-AR SPT(-)) quite different.
