摘要: Introduction and Scientific Objectives A PRIMARY objective of the CRRES mission is to examine effects radiation belt environment on a variety microelectronic components by making comprehensive simultaneous environmental measurements. Other objectives include new static dynamic models descriptions processes in belts. These require knowledge Earth's magnetic field, its variations, which are important for study all space plasma processes, including control source, loss, energization particles. The fluxgate magnetometer makes field measurements that required satisfy these major objectives. was launched July 25, 1990, at 1921 UT. In initial orbit (period = 9 h 52 min, inclination 18.2 deg, perigee 350 km, apogee 6.3Re, local time 8 MLT), must have large range measure fields from fractions nanotesla about 45,000 nT (1 10 ~ T). will be used 1) together with look angles particle experiments obtain pitch angle measured particles; 2) as diagnostic global geomagnetic disturbances current systems; 3) low-frequency waves ambient wave-particle interactions; 4) provide gyrofrequencies; 5) v x B electric fields; 6) support chemical release activities; 7) secondary source spacecraft attitude information.
