摘要: INTRODUCTION Fragile X syndrome is a well-recognised cause of developmental delay in males and to lesser extent females. The aim the present study was detailed cognitive behaviour analysis core attention impairments frequently associated with fragile X. PATIENTS AND METHODS Two complementary studies were conducted. Study 1 examined severity range behavioural problems group 25 boys compared five control groups: learning disabled comparison (Down's syndrome-Trisomy 21) four groups normal developing children. well validated rating scales used as measures behaviour: 2 performance by above on novel computerised task that measured ability inhibit irrelevant responses. RESULTS Findings from revealed children significantly more hyperactive, inattentive impulsive Down's but not poor groups. findings main impairment inhibiting repetition successful responses switching one type response another sequence, whether it has been or not. CONCLUSION Emerging evidence now supports hypothesis fundamental deficit controlling flow sequences input output. It suggested this require inhibition.
