摘要: A critical component of textbooks is fair representation the material they cover. Within conservation biology, coverage particularly important given Earth's breadth species and diversity ecosystems. However, research on tends to be biased towards certain taxonomic groups geographic areas their associated ecosystems, so it possible that may exhibit similar biases. Considering possibility bias, our goal was evaluate contemporary biology determine if are representative biodiversity. We found did not accurately reflect Species, continents were unevenly represented, few examples mentioned genetic diversity, negative human influence environment outweighed positive examples. in terms aquatic versus terrestrial representation, presented a sample. Our findings suggest modern coverage, which could have consequences for educating next generation scientists practitioners.
