摘要: Objective: Nowadays, many infertile couples can have child by assistant reproductive technology (ART). Always the undesirable effects of these methods on newborn are considered and evaluated. The aim this study is to describe impact ART ocular visual performances infants born methods. Materials methods: In a cross-sectional descriptive study, 479 aged three-nine months presented an optometry clinic Child Health Development Research Department (CHDRD), Tehran, Iran. Static retinoscopy, qualitative fixation evaluation, Hirschberg test, red reflex assessment external eye examination were carried out. Other information such as birth weight maturity was recorded. Results: It possible assess only 320 out due general condition some participants. Comparison mean refractive error in infants' right left eyes did not show any significant difference. Our findings confirmed that 20.3% had poor fixation, while 2.9% revealed manifest strabismus. results also prevalences myopia, hyperopia emmetropia 2.9%, 87%, 10.1%, respectively. Red abnormalities significantly found boys preterm (p < 0.05). Failure control seen more frequently with increasing error, which developed 0.001). Conclusion: These reflect necessity comprehensive assessments further follow-up ART, especially for premature male infants. suggest probability deficiencies recommended pay close attention preliminary report about after ART.
