Abstract. We report the discovery of an almost complete skeleton a new iguanodontian dinosaur, Talenkauen santacrucensis n. gen. et sp., from Maastrichtiano rocks southwestern Patagonia. is odd in presence plate-like structures on both sides thorax, which are better interpreted as uncinate processes than dermal armor. and also Maastrichtian Thescelosaurus neglectus Gilmore North America, represent only two ornithischians this peculiar feature currently known. Some derived features unite with other Gondwanan ornithopods, but all evidence does not offer enough support for clade endemic Southern Hemisphere. Small- to medium-sized appear have been dominant plant-eating dinosaurs Antarctica Australia during Cretaceous, contrast outstanding abundance medium sized giant sauropods central Gondwana (e.g., South Africa, India).
