Methylotrophic yeasts near Ogataea (Hansenula) polymorpha: a proposal of Ogataea angusta comb. nov. and Candida parapolymorpha sp. nov.

摘要: Ogataea (Hansenula) polymorpha and related yeasts were studied to clarify their taxonomy phylogenetic relationships. The molecular analyses based on ribosomal DNA sequences revealed that (1) ATCC 14755, type strain of Pichia angusta, is phylogenetically distinguished from the majority O. strains including 34438 T ( = NRRL Y-5445 =CBS 4732 ), species; (2) thermophila conspecific polymorpha; (3) two strains, 26012 58401, are a novel Candida species closely polymorpha. conclusions also supported by physiological characteristics other taxonomic features these strains. Therefore, we propose here species, angusta comb. nov. (ATCC 14755 CBS 7073 =NRRL Y-2214 ) parapolymorpha sp. Y-7560 conclude synonym
