摘要: [1] Planktic foraminiferal assemblages from Ocean Drilling Program (ODP) site 1119 and Deep Sea Project (DSDP) 594 are used to estimate sea surface temperatures (SSTs) over the past ∼900 kyr (marine isotope stages (MISs) 23–1) in southwest Pacific Ocean, east of New Zealand. Comparison these long SST records allows us document cyclic migrational history water masses fronts, especially N-S oriented segment Subtropical Front (STF), known as Southland Front. During most interglacials, summer SSTs were 10–12°C both sites, indicating that overlain by Subantarctic Water (SAW) was located landward them. peaks MISs 11 5.5, estimates considerably warmer than modern, suggesting southern edge E-W trending STF expanded southward Bounty Trough, Current contained a greater proportion (STW) it does today. glacials, inshore ODP (7–10°C) ∼4°C DSDP 594. This implies migrated offshore with lowered levels lie between two sites. MIS 20, dropped those 594, there no existence detectable STW entrained flowing around south end The low glacial (∼4°C) might be result persistent eddies Circumpolar spinning off into Trough during glacials.
