摘要: Abstract : Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission Precipitation Radar (TRMM PR) reflectivity data is compared with freezing level (altitude of the 0 deg C isotherm) values derived from National Center for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) 40-Year Reanalysis to determine relationship between two sets data. To establish a baseline comparison, climatology NCEP produced. using reverse linear interpolation scheme applied temperature profile each gridpoint. Global monthly means and measures variability are calculated period 1979-1998, 20-year global presented. Zonal mean 1998 1979-1998 climatology. The considered proxy melting level, TRMM PR values. Some difference expected, as some time required frozen precipitation fall through melt, create layer "bright band" signature. estimate height an algorithm used isolate maximum altitude in vertical mature tropical convection. Generally, retrieved about 600 m lower than show similar spatial distribution
