摘要: DT, IR and X-ray diffraction < 1,1 -2 2-4 /μm) of sediments from the Central Indian Ocean Basin. Results indicate that there are 2 smectite minerals (montmorillonite Fe-rich montmorillonite). Montmorillonite is present in all size fractions sediments, whereas montmorillonite onlyin 1 1-2 μm siliceous lμm pelagic clays. Distribution clay suggests illite, chlorite kaolmite detrital products Ganges Brahmaputra derived weathering ridge rocks.Fe-rich clays a result early diagenetic processes. Size fraction studies suggest tends to crystallise <2μm range.
