摘要: The objective of this study was to identify the causes death in maintenance dialysis patients who survived at least 90 days and were monitored during a 16-year period. Of 532 starting dialysis, 222 died. grouped into six categories: cardiac, infectious, withdrawal from sudden, vascular, "other." greatest number deaths due infections, followed by sudden death, other. risk dying increased for first 4 years decreased 5 through 10, had second increase 11 years. mortality consisted largely infectious cardiac deaths. late peak mainly infections dialysis. Overall, accounted more than 36% all Withdrawal occurred 21.2% most common over age 61. Notably, only 14.4% no patient died cause after surviving on 8.5 We conclude that infection is leading our population. especially older patients. Cardiac not as frequent anticipated less years, suggesting it result preexisting disease.
