摘要: INTRODUCTION: Little is known about the distribution of asthma severity in men and women general population. The objective our study was to describe change according gender a cohort adult asthmatics METHODS: Subjects with were identified from random samples 22 44 year-olds population, screened for 1991 1993 48 centers countries followed-up during 1998-2002, as part European Community Respiratory Health Survey (ECRHS). All participants follow-up current at baseline eligible analysis. To assess over follow-up, two surveys defined using standardized data on respiratory symptoms, lung function medication Global Initiative Asthma (GINA) Guidelines. Another quantitative score (Ronchetti) further considering hospitalizations also analysed. RESULTS: included 685 subjects mean period 8.65 yr (min 4.3-max 11.7). At baseline, GINA distributed intermittent: 40.7%, 31.7% mild persistent, 14% moderate 13.5% severe persistent. Using Ronchetti derived classification, 58% mild, (intermittent persistent), 25.8% moderate, 15.4% severe. Whatever there no significant difference between women. There among incident cases which developed surveys. Men moderate-to-severe more likely than have follow-up. GINA, 69.2% vs. 53.1% (p = 0.09) still score, 53.3% 36.2% 0.03) CONCLUSIONS: However, findings suggest that might be less stable men.
