摘要: Conventional locomotives employing diesel-based propulsion systems have raised concerns about the environment and hence sustainable development due to their emissions. To obtain an environmentally benign railway system, fuel cell-based are considered promising candidates owing high efficiencies as well environmental performance. In present study, a review of is conducted current progress described. Further, investigations on various aspects these types discussed. The literature studies were found be focused four main areas namely (1) prototype design/analysis, (2) energy management, (3) feasibility economic assessment (4) Fuel hybrid entail potential reduce emissions considerably with similar investment costs diesel fuel-based locomotives. Nearly 3318 tonnes/year $$\hbox {CO}_{2}$$ may reduced by replacing engine cell trains. Approximately 98% {NO}_{\mathrm{x}}$$ estimated utilization Moreover, several control utilizing fuzzy logic strategy been proved efficient management aids for such Overall locomotive 50.9% achievable deployment strategies that effectively manage power demands between cells, batteries supercapacitors.
