摘要: The transport of alkali metal cations across vesicle bilayer membranes mediated by a series 21 synthetic transporters was investigated pH-stat technique. relative activities the most active were comparable to valinomycin but factor 2-20-fold less than gramicidin. Transport activity is controlled structural variables; materials have hydrophilic head groups, balance and lipophilic groups in wall units, overall length compatible with thickness. Cation selectivity among metals, inhibition competing cation, apparent kinetic order transporter, ability move between vesicles determined. Significant cation cations, non-Eisenman patterns, zero-order kinetics are proposed as criteria recognize channel-like transporters. By these criteria, six apparently act channels, further four carriers cations. Structural variables control mode action transporters, behavior closely associated columnar structures.
